I finally upgraded to a
digital SLR in mid April (2006). Why did I Choose a Canon SLR? I have been
using a Canon 'point and shoot', since October 2002, first with an A40 and
then an A85. The A40 is still going strong (after going around the
clock twice). I had been more than pleased with both my Canon 'point
and shoot' cameras, so it was no contest: it had to be a Canon again.
So on 15th April 2006 I became the proud owner of a
Canon EOS 350D with a 18-55mm lens. At the same time I purchased a
1GB card, spare battery, a good tripod and a UV filter. Later I obtained a 'lens hood',
that I have found to be invaluable when shooting towards the sun. For the first few weeks I had the feeling that the camera
was in charge of me, but I have now started to master it, I NOW FEEL MORE IN
CONTROL. (But still lots to learn)
